I need a new forward/reverse morse cable of a thickness which is no longer routinely made. No one I've tried has one on the shelf and I've been told it will have to be made to order. Can anyone suggest who might do this for me? A supplier north of the border would be particularly useful.
Many thanks

SB

If you can find a part number on the cable, you should be able to find the current Morse replacement cable. Their catalogue has a cross reference index.

I had to replace a broken Morse control cable two seasons ago. As i live in the Portsmouth area, i went to my local dealer Automarine. The guy was so good, he took one look as i walked through the door and told me what year the cable had been made, just from the serial number - 1974 and he was right. He also offered me three different replacements, with different strengths and prices. As it was the 'push' factor that had caused the problem, i opted for a tougher version. I think i paid about £23. They also do mail order, so apart from waiting for it, your location shouldn't be a problem. Find them at www.automarine.biz
