Ha! Not seen that for a while. Deb's old boat, innit?

It's all gone a bit wrong!

I'm sure Mr Garstang will be wondering whats happening, but if he just goes round the corner, he'll see Delft, then if he carries on a bit, he might meet Rocket Ronny, or Sandra who will do his hair and sign him up for the club. Or he could mossey down to the Hand and Dagger and we'll have a pint. Else he could get a bit of a spert on and come to the forum meet at Conarvon. It's a very small world round here.:D

i think your ball needs a good polishing as you got the marina berth right but i have a sea going invader 22 by briscoe marine which i am not sure if i will put to sea at the moment as i have never driven a boat before so for the time being its the canals.but as for insurance i put inland waterways with tidel crossings only...

By the way.
There is an Invader like yours a few miles from Me in the Menai Straits!
The Straits is a canal with sea water that dashes about a bit sometimes.

Just the job for your boat.
Just the place to use Her, plus near to hlb so all the cloudy chrystal ball stuff could be sorted;)

wished id'e read these before setting of to the marina today as i could have had a look for the boats which i think are in the next marina up nateby crossing road (i am in the first one just over the hump bridge) before hitting the motorway back home but maybe next time..

Haydn,

I think it's a punctuation problem, not an 'I'm lost' problem. 'Garstang' is clearly at Bridge House, and he hits the motorway to head home. Garstang Marina is, indeed, just up the road from Bridge House. I don't think he meant to imply the motorway went past the marinas!

I've just converted Minnie into a motor boat to cruise the Lancaster canal. I think I've boated on every form of water now - Sea, Lake, Resevoir, River, Canal - is there anything I haven't tried yet? Maybe sand-yachting will be next.

I can't make the NW meeting - see you at the Hand and Dagger sometime.

spot on i go down to the M6 to join the M62 via the A6... by the way if you google bridgehouse marina on google maps it shows a pic of my boat so the last owner must have put it on there.:D just a pity he didn't leave any info on the boats workings or any info on the electrics as i have found stopcocks fitted to the floor which i would not like to touch incase they flood the boat

had this pic in another post but nobody replied so i dont think anybody knows what there for....

cant remember i know they both go to a pump type thing (the black startermoter shape( and the other goes to a blue canister type pump but will have a better look tomorrow as i have to nip to the boat to get some measurements for the paneling so i will have a good look as its kinda tight under the floor but offhand i dont know where they go could be a toilet flush as it has a pump out toilet but with half the fuses missing i cant find out if that works (found a pedal which opens the slider door to empty the bog but there is another small pedal next to it but not sure what that does)..

Cant understand half of that. But there will be nothing electric about the toilet. Your pedal may be for flushing the toilet or to pump water into the sink. Probably manually.

Why did you not go through all this with the previous owner??

right ..i followed them and one does go to the black pump in pic then it goes into the bulkhead and somewhere which i cant find the other goes to a pump with aquaflow on it it then that goes off into the bulkhead...on the other side of the engine there is another seacock which goes to a waterfilter then into the engine so i am at a loss as to what they are

as for the previous owner i cant contact him only through a medium..lol and the boat was sold through a 3rd party and they know nothing about boats either..as for calling round that would have been great but i got to the boat at 8am today then left at 12.30 and had not read any more posts from my last one last night till now and its a bit late to arrange to meet...but thanks for the offer

Pity, we were there around 12.30, but then the rain came down and we left.

First thing we don't understand, your boat has an out drive, so water for cooling the engine should come in from there. Less they did it different in the sixties. Also you have twin throttle leavers. Less one is gear leaver and other throttle.??

I can only think your pipes to the sea cocks are bilge pumps, but it's an odd way, to send the water out threw the bottom of the boat and not out of the side.

The yellow looking pipe seems to go from the sea cock, then out of the side of the boat, is this right?? The armoured clear pipe also looks to go out of the side. Have you two holes on the starboard side?? Ah, looking again at the picture, you have, but these seem to be higher and further back.

Everything I've said, makes no sence as you appear to be pumping water out of the canal, then straight over board. But then it's not easy to tell from pictures.

The only pipe of any great importance, is the one going to the engine. No idea what the green pipe does.

I'm surprised others have not jumped in to help, it's beond anything I understand.

So apart from the one to the engine, the others are either bilge pumps, for emptying the boat of any water. Else there just noncence, maybe to fol folk that he's sinking!!

I need help!!

Kwackers, anyone!

Yer well.
I have glanced at the piccies.
But Crikey!
There are more Pipes there than at a Sherlock Holmes convention!
Could do with a piccie that shows the Overall configuration.
Like -- a bit further out as it were.
To see whats joined to what etc.
Like stuff comin from the eng etc.
There are sea cock type things bilge pump type things and other things.
Hactually as it appens.

I need to go up to that kneck of the woods in the very near future.
Could pop me ed in
Later next week or the week after.

1 pint an hour is the Fee;)

Could take me 24 hours to suss the job out though.
From the evidence provided:rolleyes:

Yep, but has there ever been an out drive, that does not draw the water from the out drive but from a sea cock?? Why would a boat have one out drive but two throttles??

I'm wondering if the deceased owner was a little ascentric. Especially with all the switches.

Yep but with the combind wisdom of the forum, that could be quite expencive.

An outdrive does not need a seacock as you rightly say.
Two throttles?
Got to say I have missed that info:confused:
The deceased does seem to have been a little eccentric, or maybe a large eccentric even!
Like I say.
From the evidence/piccies provided.
It's a bit hard to suss the prob.
