Sometimes it all comes together ! Heading up towards Old Windsor, sun shining - just as it should be but rarely is!
Who else is out and about?

Messing about on the river or the "mess" in it?

Urgent repairs day, hydraulic steering and toilet repairs, now a well earned beer!

Just finished putting seven flurescent light fittings from main cabin in the skip. Replaced with LED strip.
All hidden behind light diffuser panels so no obvious change apart from the light output/colour and a vast drop in current.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350871703543
Just ordered second reel for bog and galley

...oooh and one of these for no good reason at all apart from its dirt cheap and GOTTAREMOTECONTROL :)

Out tomorrow for lazy trip somewhere and club outing up to Allington next Friday.

8m of RGB tape, 8 RGB plinth lights, controlled in three synchronised zones.

Don't know how many actual LED emitters, so you may well beat me on sheer quantity.. :)

Think we may have hijacked Tony's thread a bit there...

Yup, although I am thoroughly enjoying my little holiday, I really, really hope the weather holds out for another few weeks, cos it's boating time when we get back!! :)

My enjoyment of the river over the weekend was somewhat spoilt by speeding, un named (and probably unlicenced) dinghies. And Connaught. Looks like last years speed and wash campaign was a waste of time.

I totally agree. My wife and I were moored having lunch on Sunday when we heard a great roar outside. Some w**ker in a 30ft sports boat opened both engines to full power. In the resultant chaos everything on the table and other surfaces ended up on the floor, all cupboard door flew open with stuff falling out. Our boat must have rocked at least 15 deg either side of the vertical. If the kettle had had boiling water in it my wife would have been badly burned.
We later caught up with him and received an aggressive apology of sorts, but excused his actions because he was having "engine problems". They seemed to be working just fine to me! Our worst by far wake experience in 8 years on the Thames.

What was the boat name?

I wasn't sure if I could "name and shame" on this forum. After confronting him I got the distinct impression he would not hesitate to do the same thing again if he felt like it.

Name and shame away, in your area there are few usual suspects so a good chance its not his first offence and the more evidence the better.

Most folks who are dim enough to do this sort of thing are usually serial offenders. ?
Unfortunately it reinforces the impression that the drivers of this type of boat are all the same, which is obviously not the case.
Got to be worth mentioning it to the nearest lock keeper,it may not be the first time somebody has complained.

And what, I must ask, would one expect the nearest lock keeper to do?

If a sufficient number of people have complained about a particular boat over a long period, then enough evidence should be available to do something about him.
It no good 20 odd folks stewing about a boat owner unless all of them bother to give the EA the ammunition/evidence to have a go at him.
This name seems to appear on the Thames listing.
However there is another with a similar name.
