Nice to see the little old Mercruiser D120 getting a very good review again in the magazine.

Same story as always, they expect it to be underpowered, but it performs beyond its apparent capabilities. As well as being quiete and cheap to run.

Yawn

You haven't got one of these have you? If so you have kept it very quiet, why don't you tell us all about it?

Do you save a lot on fuel? I have a petrol engine would you recommend changing?

Have you any idea how I can dislodge my tongue from my cheek?

All the forum, especially Alistair and myself, look forward to you enlightening us with your experience

Martyn

PS How' Naburn?

I Wondered when someone would spot that!

I have been offered what appears to be a 'deal I can't refuse' on a Princess 33, currently owned by a work mate who's off to S Africa for a few years.

There was no way I was thinking of selling, or upsizing for a year or two yet. The chances are that I still won't. But it got me thinking that if I could get a good price quickly for the B27, then it would be a great opportunity to secure the P33.

I thought I'd try a free add on B&O and see whether there looked like there may be sufficient interest for me to pledge a serious interest with my mate. Had a couple of enquiries to date, so I'll see how it goes. I'd need to get close to £25K to make the P33 puchase feasible.

Re: Yawn

Hi Martyn,

Guess Naburn's a bit wet at the moment!

I managed to call in briefly on Friday, during my travels, to fit a thermostat on the heater. (Need to make sure the damp doesn't get hold if someone should require a viewing!).

It was quite an amazing site, Naburn. I didn't appreciate how many large boats there are based there. Now that many are out of the water, you walk passed rows and rows of double and triple parked 40ft plus monsters, and there's still plenty afloat in the marina. There's even a large squaddy moored on the same pontoon now, things are on the up!

Are you around this coming weekend?

Re: Yawn

Hi Martyn

I didn't know you were thinking of selling but the Princess sounds exciting. Seriously the diesel engine should help sell. Best of luck.

Have you checked your contract with Naburn Marina to make sure they can't fleece you for a brokerage fee, even if you sell privately, just because you are berthed there?

Yes I am about this weekend but have my mother coming to stay so it would probably not go down too well if I disappeared !!

Hope to catch up with you soon

Regards

Martyn
