It is a slightly racy cruiser but on CYCA it only rates as fast as a Sigma 33 or a Starlight 35 at 15.25, it gives a lot of time to an X yacht 332, Elan 333 and a little to an X302 so not that quick.
Whoops, I thought you were asking about the Maxi 1000!!! my apologies.
We used to own a Maxi 100 for several years - same but without the fixed hood. PS stands for Power Sail so I think the emphasis was more on comfort than on sailing performance. The 100's hull was similar to the 95 I think, with a slightly different keel, so the PY is going to be similar to a 95? The deck layout is better than the 95 in my opinion. We bought new Kemp sails for ours and she went well enough after that. Quite close-winded but no traveller on ours. The rear cabin is separate and hard to use in the rain and in the end we wanted a boat with the accomodation all in one. Ours had been in the Med for a long time (ex-charter) and we had her treated for osmosis - the accomodation would be better in use there I think. There's loads of space for storage (esp the cavern under the cockpit) but no chart table so it's hard to find good places for the VHF etc. Nice teak joinery and a big saloon for entertaining. Good fittings throughout.
The 95/100 boats are not in the same league as the 1000. PM me if you wish?
