If worried about security why not mark the dink as TT SSR 12345?

As your boat has both the name and the SSR number written on the outside, why is it more secure to put the SSR number on your tender?

My insurance insists the boat name is on the tender. I have it marked on the bottom.

I seem to remember when I painted the name on my (Hypalon) dinghy I painted over the name of the previous boat it belonged to with black gloss and painted the new name with white gloss on top. That was 10 yrs ago and I have not done it again. It is legible but tatty. My dinghy stays inflated most of the season.

Has anyone any experience of using exhibition grade carpet on board?

The thin needle cord non foam backed re-cyclable type use for various exhibitions and stages? I took some that was going to be binned and intend to use it on the floor to protect the sole plates and give the mutt some traction. Not worried if that does not work out.

At some point in the future I may decide to replace the foam backed headlining and wonder whether this or its foam backed counter part might be an option.

Does it absord moisture?

I've found it makes the letters a bit fuzzy round the edges
