Well in Aberystwyth prices are seriously up see http://www.ybw.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/2214901/an/0/page/3

Helped move one of the boats yesterday. Essentially a 10%+ rise /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think around 8 or so mid/larger boats have moved and I guess any number of small ones won't return.

One part of the marina looks seriously empty now so many friends have gone /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I am at Plymouth Yacht Haven and the marina is full... the laws of supply and demand thus mean there is no need for them to reduce prices, shame but true.

My swinging mooring just up from Portsmouth harbour at Wicormarine, has increased to £2550 up front for the whole year. This includes lift in/out and powerwash and winter on land -propped. If you wish to pay in tranches you pay more.
The yard was nearly full this winter but as yet I have no idea about the moorings.
You pay more for a metered electrical supply and for a lock-up storage cupboard.
A position for one tender dinghy on the jetty is included with price.

yes Ken I agree, but the difficulty is finding something of better value all things considered.
If I lived S.Coast with less travelling, (hour and half to yard at present and not retired), perhaps I would forgo some of the advantages I have at present.
If I was 40 years younger I would forgo even more!

I think they have been the beneficiary of the flight downwards from marinas. I understand there is now a waiting list, especially for the larger boats.

I am moving from Wicor to Gosport Boatyard off Hardway as I gave up my mooring thinking I was taking the boat to Greece. That didn't happen (don't ask) and I had to find another mooring, as Wicor had apparently now got a waiting list. I was lucky to get this mooring, only available because someone was staying ashore.

However, my new mooring for 12 months (not the usual 6) is £1850 as opposed to £1990 at Wicor for April to Oct. However, I don't think it is going to be as convenient as Wicor, which I am going to miss...... despite Scotty barking at me from time to time!
