Just checked my lottery numbers , looks like i'm a winner ! Will be in contact with Sunseeker tomorrow to order my 105 super yacht. Do you think buying new is best or something that is 1-3 years old ? Her indoors informs me that i've only won a tenner not enough for the bottle of champers. What would you buy if the six numbers came up . As we have all wound up the boat show salesman with when i win the lottery.

Re: Hurrah!

No, not a 105, all orange peely hull, definetely way beyond sunseeker at that level.

Best have a few boats, med, uk, and so on. I think the sailboat Liberty wd be good, but needs a double rollover, plus heavy monthy wins.

Incidentally, I understand that just such a stunt was staged: one guys was spoofed by his mates - the dj at a big disco to read out this chaps numbers. Anyway, by the time they got to him, he had already chucked his wife and rung up his boss to tellim the obvious...

So you won a tenner too then? Apparantly the most common phrase heard at LBS is "if we win the lottery tonight you can have it". Mind you that was on the Guiness stand.

For the big win, I'd go for a Squaddie. Don't mind which, any of 'em'll do and not new. With all that cash in the bank there's no way I'm waiting a year or so for delivery so it's secondhand for now whilst the new blue hull one's being built.

Oh and probably my own forum;-)

If you won 4 or 5 mill on the lottery, it'd only be like an extra months salary bonus wouldn't it?

So really think you should donate any winnings to charity. Would be happy to suggest some (well one) worthy cause if needed..

Re: My lottery win

well, when it started, a few at work all clubbed together. So, ooer shit, better join in else i'll be the plonker left here on my own. So all the staff joined. then some kicked in with multiple shares. Soon, we had 200 quid running for 12 million, of which would have got 10% ish.

Of course, we won...some tenners. Unfortunately the twat who went to collect the money got a parking ticket, which halved the winnings. I won a packet of chrisps, I think.

Office lottery clubs (by a miserable git)

Eek that's high risk. 12mill, 30 employees, 400k each. A lot of them might then naff off, leaving you with your own 400k but erm a lot of trubble at mill.....

Re: Don\'t be silly!

Funny you should mention this, I had a freind who had a small pub, only had 4 employees but about 5 years ago the pub syndicate one a couple of million (Then the highest ever win) on the pools. Next day- understandably- all for quit, the pub did'nt open again and he sold the place at a huge loss about 6 months later.

Ever since I've been paranoid about the same thing happening to me I've spent a fortune on buying huge shares in every staff syndicate going and I've never even won a packet of crisps!!

Fortunately, our lot went completey potty very early on, and got sick/broke of it. I understand that there have been other stories along the same lines as yours. Wd think ideal topic for potnoodle itv series, but with more variants rather than on and on bout same big (individuals) examples.

the 10% bit confused me

Ah ok, you've covered that one off I see, sorry for doubting...!

As regards the guy who has the job of taking the £200 each week to Forbouys, make sure to check up on him. He can prob do the task in record time now, in that new Boxster :)

Re: the 10% bit confused me

I remember a story about a woman who taped the TV program with the lottery results at the end.

Folowing week she bought a ticket with the previous (taped)weeks winning numbers, and that weekend put the tape on at about the right time whilst hubby had popped out of the room. End of the program, hubby picks up the lottery ticket, watches his numbers read out.......!!

Oh how he must laugh about it now.........

I would have to hit it big because by the time my other half has handed out shares to her family and our sons, I will be just as skint as ever!

However, if I were in a position to buy a little something for myself,

a) I would not buy anything which I could not handle pretty well on my own. That puts a practical size limit on a under 60 ft.
b) I would want a proper sea boat, well screwed together with a good range.
A Fleming 55 comes to mind - a bargain at about £6-700k
