Kwiggle folding bike

Quite, for an odd looking and VERY small wheeled contrivence. Maybe they should give a few to some 'influencers' In the way that stuff was gifted to known people to jump start things.
Never tried any of them, as no real use out here.
But, a long time back, I briefly had a Moulton folding bike. Sort of useful, but lacked the stability of the big wheels gyroscopic effect. Not to mention the folding clamp let go suddenly, dumping me on the road..

I think the idea (in their ad) of keeping the bike in a railway station locker is brilliant....except, where do you find one ? (apart from American films)

I can’t get on with the normal Brompton’s wobbliness. But the new G- Line works for me (so the missus is getting one for Christmas!). Doesn’t fold quite so small, but not too bad and a decent compromise when we are expecting lots of guests squatting in the proper bike’s garage (ie the forecabin).

I think the IRA put paid to all that in the 70s

The small wheels are the killer - unless you travel on perfectly smooth surfaces. You need big wheels to ride over sharp bumps.

Just think of a small wheeled scooter.....and sharp bumps.

Certainly one has to be pothole aware. I am constantly arguing with my wife in the car. She seems totally incapable of missing them. Sometimes one does have to move out a bit but if one is looking far enough ahead one does not have to swerve. Alternatively it might be that one can position the nearside wheels between curb & pothole.
But can she - NO we hit every one
It is a bit like a small wheeled bike. One does not suddenly swerve out if a car is following, but gradually position ones self to miss the hole in the road before hand

I did once empty the boat at the end of the season....the trailer was piled high with stuff all tied down

This could solve the weight and rust problem, but I see it uses torque sensing.

I can’t find the weight in the website....do you know it? It is very interesting, carrying awkward or heavy weights on the passerelle gets harder each year

I currently have a 14" wheel bike (Bridgestone Picnica clone gifted to me by a man who rescued it from a skip) and it rides OK

Obviously you can unload the bike without the battery to help....but 15kg is not light....just light for what it is

Which is heavier than my full size road bike and just 2 kg lighter than my hardtail mountain bike. This is about size not weight,

I think weight is as important as size…once those bikes are safely stashed in the lazaret…they have to be hauled out (often from the deck) then put ashore…it’s a muscle job….difficult for the elderly and those who feel old

You are right
My Brompton drops in through the deck locker easily enough in its bag. ( best way to keep it all together) The hatch opening is curved inwards. The curve forces it all together.
But it is a real struggle to lift it out, as every edge catches every piece of GRP on the way out & I am fighting gravity.

Cost $5 at the 2nd hand store, needed a few mods, and it solved the space problem for me and multiple guests (bring your own bike).

If they will stay on a car at 100 kph and dirt roads, they will stay on the boat.
