I don't know if there are many like me, I never look at the Lounge .and it seems that Scuttlebutt still goes on in its unpredictable way, but sometimes getting a little silly

Wow .. another constructive periodic predictable post from Robin .. why do'nt you post something boatie rather than just being a whingeing old git? I also fear you give me too much blame for developments on this forum .. if you actually care to look at posting history you will find that far from being a leading poster recently I too have not posted much ... cos actually few peeps have posted much in the way of boatie topics ... erm including you!
And actually if you need a button to ignore things then probably best to ensure your wife removes all the sharp things from the house, 1 to ensure you do'nt hurt yourself and 2 so you do'nt feel out of place.

in effect, I guess you are saying the lounge has been a failure in moving non-boaty stuff from scuttlebutt to a more suitable forum, and there is no proper monitoring of scuttlebutts contents so abuse is rife.
maybe we ought have more policing with extra powers to moderate the abuses ....... yeah - that will do it, even ban ppl who mispost, misbehave or even disagree with your point of view.
then, luckily, we will all end up agreeing with each other and look forward to a nice agreeable doze in front of the computer screens - or else those more equal than others will pounce on you ......

Like many others I suspect, I don't often reply to your seemingly boaty posts because all too often they turn out to be yet another of your games - like when you edited and changed the question once a few replies were in.
If you want to know what I do about gloves? I use Musto waterproof ones which come with a thin thermal pair inside, or I use West Marine neoprenes ones. Right now a pair of surgical gloves with just one finger might be appropriate.
