Keeping diesel tank filled over winter

Apologies for incorrect profile information - I have now updated it to reflect the ownership of Golden Eye of Chichester which, as some of you have deduced, is a Westerly Oceanlord.
And the (metal) diesel tank is just over 200 litres.

I’ve never greased the O ring - are you sure silicone grease doesn’t lead to deterioration of nitrile O ring?
Silicone grease is the recommended lubricant for synthetic rubbers. Vaseline and rubber grease both work but also dry out more quickly.

I'm not sure if silicone grease ever dries out, but if it does it seems to be over decades rather than years.

OK I give up!
Still going to fill the tank though. :) :) :)
I'm with you , well over 40 years owning some kind of boat , I never added anything to my fuel , I always keep it full over the winter In The UK and in the MED , I never had a water problem , maybe because I nearly always filtered my fuel .
If it works why change it .
Plus I just load fuel From Malta including 80lts in cans at €1.19 if I wanted till next year and buy it in Italy at to day paid its €1.36
350 lts that's some saving .
