The secret is to fill slowly based on sound of the fuel going into the tank if you want to avoid excessive foaming and false fill assumptions.
I can usually hear a change in sound before the foam rises and spills over the inlet and a little patience often allows a lot more fuel to be added shortly after the first stop.
The automatic fuel stop mechanism is useless with foamy diesel
