Anybody got any pros or cons on Jeckells?

Hi Ya,
Know of them as they are (fairly) local to me... Quality is excellent, workmanship is fantastic, overcoming design problems or awkaward manufacturing is a forte!
But they are always runinng at 110% of capacity - whioch means that if you want it quick... forget it!
They ahve a very good name in the industry for the quality of the products they produce, you pay a bit more for it though.. but i am told that it is worth it - they last!

We've bought from them for years both Dinghy and Yot sails on the Broads. Never any problems. Can't comment on cost 'cos its the old mans yot not mine!

The last couple of dinghies I had used Jeckells sails. Raced hard 2 or 3 times a week, yet the sails lasted well, with no noticable wear or streatching. I imagine their yacht sails are just as good.

I bought a storm sail from them some years ago. Fortunately I've never had to use it in anger so I can't comment on the it's durability, and ability etc., but it is a well made sail. They were not the cheapest but that shows in the quality of the sail, plus they were very helpful with all the queries I had before ordering it.

They just made me a new main. Absolutely perfect, and at a good price. PM me for more detail - our boats are comparable.

Just replaced the mainsail. The original was from Jeckells 1984. The replacement from Jeckells was excellent. I did have one snag. The original in 1984 had to go back because their sailplan shows the sail sliding into the boom instead of boom sliders. They made the same mistake this time so again the sail had to go back to have boom sliders added. Maybe they should have updated their sail plan in 1984! They dealt with the problem immediately and turned the sail around double quick without any quibble. I would have no hesitation in ordering from them again and would strongly recommend them. I do not have experience with other sail makers although I ordered a new spray hood from Quay sails at the boat show and wait to see the result.

I had Jeckels do me a replacement genoa a few years ago. Excellent sail, competitive price considering the quality(some sailmakers I would not use at any price).
Only downside was a few weeks delay on the delivery date .
This year I had replacement sails made by Arun. Excellent sails reasonable price and on time delivery.
I would use either firm again but beware of the "bargain"sail makers you see advertising. I have seen some really awful sails people have been really dissapointed.
