I have a Jabsco Manual Toilet model 29090-0000. I am able to pump water into the bowl, however pumping water out is a problem. The pump is not leaking at the top and I hear pressure building up and eventually the pump handle becomes really stiff. I believe that the pump is working okay, however I cannot figure out where the blockage is and how to fix it. I've noticed small pieces of grit appearing in the drain of the bowl since I've been working at trying to clear the system out. Any suggestions on what to do next ?

Thanks.

I presume you've opened the outlet seacock? Maybe the hose is blocked, why not replace it if not too difficult. To check the pump's working, just remove the outlet pipe, put a bucket underneath and pump. If water comes out you can eliminate the pump.

Pour a cup of cooking oil into the toilet bowl and gently pump it out. This will lubricate the pump diafram. Had a similar problem with my toilet and this cured it.

Had a simular problem with my Brydon sea toilet (very simular to Jabsco) my guess is you have jambed the diaphram which opens and closes at the main outlet,(I looks like a rubber cone but has open/close slots for discharging).
Im afraid you may need to do what I did and strip the whole thing down.
I decided that I may as well replace all the rubber seals at the same time, send the toilet ref.no to A.S.A.P supplies and get a complete seal kit (about £25)
My advice is also note on a bit of paper how the rubber seals are coming out as you can fit them upside down sometimes (I learnt from experiance).
It's a messy job but someone has to do it,usualy the captain! but you cannot do without the toilet, well you can but it's even more messy!

Remove the hose at the outlet to see if it has a reduced internal diameter. Salt builds up here and can eventually totally block the outlet. I recently had the same problem and found the original one and a half inch diameter down to only half inch.

It's a mucky job but you need to do it. Have fun !
