insurance estimates Arrrrghh

Hi All
I have mailed my insurance company re; damaged outdrive, result 3 estimates needed!! Bloody hell!!! can't I just get a little F*****G break !!!!!!!!!!!
So i spoke to resident marine fitter, who advised get the boat lifted, he would then strip leg down, and supply quote, Umm!! not sure on that, so i asked why he doesn't come and see what happens when drive is engaged so he will have a better undersatnding of what is going on, after all it's estimates i am looking for, not a full repair quote Nah! get it out and i will have alook.

Call number 2
Spoke to another marine fitter 15miles away(by phone in case any of you are thinking of getting pendantic) asks for estimate, so he gives me the same as marina fitter, get it out Blah, Blah, Umm i says that will have been done by the previous chap so if i show you his report can you give me an estimate,?? Nah Mate!! won't touch it if someone else has had a go!!!

So i'm thinking 12 trips 1 per month on a charter boat fishing = £600.00 PA
looking good!!

Same problem here after my emergancy stop with the said rower from molsey rowing club,
called 3 people all said take the out board off and bring it round,
so i rushed around getting it to the local one only to be told a week later they still havnt even looked at it.On the phone they said they would do a half hour inspection on it , they didnt say it would take a week to do the half hour inspection .
Now i know why they are called naughtycalia.
I dont think people realise how much hassle it is to get the boat out /engine off etc
i offered to take the boat to them and they said they would charge me to lift it just to take the outboard off
