Inappropriate

I have this on my dashboard but I can’t bear to press the ‘sync’ button on a boat.
What could happen? Would my seacocks spontaneously dissolve (or would that happen anyway on a Beneteau?)
Is this an inappropriate word, like ‘terminal’ at an airport?

Yep "sync" feels like bad luck on a boat.
Do you ever clean your boat?

Sync - Already discussed. Ensure lifejackets are worn before pressing.
Neutral - The gear actuators select neutral and immediately fail.
Dock - The boat hits the dock.
Transfer - Someone falls overboard.
1 Lever - One throttle lever falls off.
Troll - One set of propellors falls off.
Throttle Only - Both sets of propellors fall off.
