There was a snag with a slight shaft leak - can't see that being planned, an RN bod admitted it was a bit of a pain but no big deal really on local news.
And with a British population that no longer knows or cares anything about about ships, the MoD and BAE PR flacks can get away with that. There’s hardly anybody left with practical or theoretical knowledge of shipbuilding.
It’s terminal incompetence. It wasn’t a «*slight shaft leak*»; the shaft was misaligned during construction. The TV crews following the ship filmed an intermediate bearing but were fobbed off with a tale of a lobster pot. My heart went out to the RN petty officers who had been ordered to lie to the cameras.
