Hot Liquid stripped of RYA recognition

Weel to get back to the original theme OnDeck are to absorb the Hot Liquid bookings.....
"Ondeck's managing director, Michael William, said: 'We are very keen to show that the RYA training community acts in true nautical tradition of coming to the aid of sailors in peril."

Very altruistic of them :) Free sailing courses?

Jason Manning was one of their first employees when they purchased On Deck Sailing. Nice to see that there is still a relationship despite the two companies being business rivals. OOOPS! I said I would not post on this thread again................

Probably.......as long as minimum standards are met.

There may be all sorts of logistical and practical issues.
Boats are berthed at Shamrock. OnDeck based in Gosport and Cowes.
I doubt many are owned by HL (I've no idea) but some will be privately owned, others leased. Some may already have bookings for non-RYA committments.
Maybe HL stock will need to go on brokerage.
Given the timing I suspect HL only have a nominal number of bookings for OnDeck to absorb.

I doubt it's altruism. Probably Hot Liquid have contracted OnDeck to provide the courses that they're not able to. It avoids HL having to issue refunds. Ondeck would likely be paid something near to the going rate.

I suspect there would be some discounting going on. HL were very much cheaper than OnDeck. So at most OnDeck would get the HL rate. From OnDecks perspective they will be looking at the value of the customer through the whole life cycle. i.e. Take a HL client at a reduced rate but you then go on to sell the same client other practical and theory courses. I would even expect HL to get a reasonable introduction fee from OnDeck.
The only caveat to the above is I just can't believe there any significant numbers.

Don't forget the positive publicity ... (no I'm not being a cynic!) - It makes a good little Press Release ...

I wouldn't complain if I was a HL customer being passed on to OnDeck . I would look forward to the OnDeck experience*.

* Assuming price was the same. (OnDeck is significantly more expensive than HL.)
I can't imagine OnDeck won't match the price and only match the booking date. To not do so could be very damaging.
