Well Christmas Day has just finished here and is now Boxing Day - Sydney Hobart starts this afternoon.

I got everything I could hope for - 5 toy rats stuffed with catnip and only 3 parcel bombs this year (the one from Ireland had a return address on it which seemed strange even to a cat).

So trust you are all having or have had a nice day and are ending it with full tummies and being tucked up in bed in alcoholic stupors like good little yachts people should be.

Regards to all

The turkey is roasting, I peeled the spuds (potato to you), the wine is uncorked and aclimatizing, (cook is slightly tipsy) the port and Stilton well positioned, the snow is falling (right on cue!) and we're almost ready to celebrate. Happy Christmas, a properous New Year, fair winds, etc. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Happy Boxing Day and New Year

How come you get to have Boxing Day, that is a little local event I thought!

We just finished part one, still have the Christmas Pud/mince pies and brandies to go, just taking a break to make some room!

All the best to everyone, Cats, cats, monos and mobos all.

Happy Boxing Day, puss, guess you'll be sleeping off your excesses. We had some snow here in south Devon today, right on cue. Don't know about you, but right now I'm taller when I'm lying down! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Who do you think will win the SeedKnee/Hobart BrianJ (and others interested - see http://www.rolexsydneyhobart.com/)?

Obviously I am cheering for KM but I think it will be close. Pretty hard to tell so far as it looks like all the maxis are just on a run drag down the coast so just a few miles between them all.

We have visitors here until 10 Jan so hope to get away for 2-3 weeks as soon as possible after that - not too much of a drag really 'cos, while I do not like to admit it, we have had sad weather for this time of the year. No snow like the UK'ites though but wouldn't have been surprised!

Hardly any days over 20C so far and down in Wellington very windy and also quite alot of rain. Haven't even gotten the sails on the boat - bit difficult getting the genoa on the furler in either 50 - 60 knots or rain that one can hardly see through, and that is how many of the weekends in Wellington have been. Not been so bad up here on the Tasman Coast though (cos we face Oz I expect a bit of the glow reaches this far /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif).

Glad that you discovered my drinking habits - is all ok really because I am the only one in our family that does drink so I can make up for the others.

Sorry to hear about your weather. My parents were complaining yesterday on the phone about the temp while waiting for the turkey to cook on the barbecue. 36 degrees inland from Perth WA. I didnt have a great deal of sympathy as the frost had only just melted in the afternoon where I live in UK (no snow either like unlike a lot of the country)

Cheers John

Hope you had a great time, we were woken by a telephone call at 1835 New Zealand time, I know, because I was staring at the glowing LED numbers in disbelief on my clock radio while trying to be full of joy to the excited no vowels chatter on the other end /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Funny thing is, I don't remember anything that was said during the conversation, though I do remember wondering if there was enough cord on the telephone to reach the bathroom, painful it was !

To the cat, good for you, my master bought me chocolates which he hid on the strange tree growing in the corner of the room. He seemed unhappy when I went for a treasure hunt when he was out the back. Woof.

Snow - what's snow? Cold maybe, but have managed to sail both Christmas Day and Boxing Day, with strong probability of getting out today too. Clear skys and a modest breeze have been the order of the day. Sadly I know it's not going to last /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Regards, Jeff.
