Help needed to identify boat please

Hi all, totally new to boating, I have took on an abandoned yacht. Everyone I asked doesn't know what make she is. The only info I have is she was built in 1983 and is 23ft in length. Any information would gladly be appreciated. Many thanks Dave.

Dunno what it is but suspect that’s the least of your problems. Best of luck with her though, every boat deserves a second chance.

Looks like a Swinn Ranger which is a 22ft ( 6.7 metres ) long motor sailer. Displacement of about 1500 kg. Usual engine was Yanmar 1GM 10 or outboard. Built by KH Marine of Brightlingsea.

Edit to add your example looks as though it is junk rigged. The mast is designed to hinge back as shown with a sleeve that drops down to secure it when vertical. Being a motor sailer, having a decent junk sail is unlikely to offer worse performance than with the standard bermudan rig, and will make sail handling and reefing easily done from the cockpit.
