Yes I have seen then on the end of a finger mooring which allows the boat to swing into their mooring without damage from the sharp of the finger

Had the marina provided that (ie all/most fingers had it) or had the owner? Is it better than a fender?

Owner made. Noticed them when I came back in at lunchtime. The boat is a small yacht and I guess the owner sails alone. He has another on the main pontoon to protect his starboard bow. Neat and simple.

The trouble with adding wheels to pontoons is that it makes it very easy for thieves to put them on their sides and wheel them off.

If you are offered a wheeled pontoon for a suspiciously low price down some dark alleyway, just be aware of this growing menace to society.

Could have done with one on my boat as the idiot next to me liked to ram me on the way in and out and as I was not on board most of the time I only got to see the results. My solution was to change berths.
