GPS crashes on starting the engine

personally, i would start by getting a date off the batteries and assuming they more than say 3 years old, replace them.

They get a hard time and new ones make all the difference across the whole system. (assuming you dont have other faults)

Same problem - ocassionally - on my 1988 Beneteau 32s5, even though the domestic and engine batteries are supposedly on separate circuits. It depends how much charge the domestic battery is still holding (I think)

I had the same problem ever since I fitted my GPS. My gas alarm was also affected.

This winter I renewed my battery cables and fitted a new battery switch and the problem has resolved itself. Presumably it was caused by a voltage drop due to poor connections.
