I have not been to this site this year ,but , i see from some off the messages RUDENEES and BITCHYNESS. Same as the diving forums and communities , but there again us divers are common .

I'm not put off by going in here for another look at some stage, it entertained me tonight. Keep up the good work all .

happy cruising and do all have a safe season .

I watch the divers in our marina and can't help thinking that they must be a dorsal fin short of a set.I mean they

Jump into the Clyde at all times of year. Anyone else accidentally falling in is told they have about 2 mins to get out before they don't ever again.

Lug the heaviest gear up and down marina gangways every week (and block the pontoons with it!)

Poke about old wrecks which are liable to collapse on them.

Their're handy all the same for a little scrub instead of a lift and, for those boats with no rope strippers, removing debris from the props.

Oh well, it takes all sorts.

I have many moons ago while at university. My old bones are just not up to it any more and I get cold just looking at these guys!

Diving in the Clyde . . .

I started learning to SCUBA dive in Loch Long, and other parts of the Clyde in the mid 70's. I've dived in Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne and in the North Sea near Abredeen. I've also changed into a WET suit when the fresh water in the puddles at the raodside was frozen.

I had a holiday in St.Kitts, West Indies. I came back and after washing my hands under the cold tap (in June) near Glasgow, I declared that I must have been "a bit touched" so I sold all my equipment except my Dacor 100 demand valve and mask.

I then learnt to dive in Anguilla BWI in 82 where the water is in the 70's F.

I still dive - but only between 9:00am and 2pm when the sun is out and overhead.I now think I need a wet suit here in St.Kitts in stead of my trusty Tee shirt- my blood must be thinning - too much alcohol (rum)????

Excuse me! This is a gentile forum and we don't understand comments like this. Have you come from scuttlebutt?
