For the love of God, can we have a separate ‘Anchors and Anchoring’ forum please?

This is not about anchor threads per se, but what they represent.
For some reason they tend to bring out the worst in people on here, 9/10 they descend into petty arguments and grudges.
I think what’s being asked for is that if we can group all the negativity into one area maybe the forum will be a happier place.
Just my 2cents.

Maybe you are asking for, sorry wrong word ... suggesting? ...., more sensitive Moderating?

No suggestion the Moderators are at fault,

Its 'our' Forum. I do fear that some posts are not to the same standard as others and this detracts from the excellence of the forum and its reputation. But I, in common with most individuals, have embedded bias and a 'school of Moderators' would offer more balance.

Just my 2 x scope.
Fixed for you. My pleasure

OP here. Well, I feel my motion has been roundly shot down by The House so I shall henceforth wind my neck in and mind my own bleedin’ business!

Wasn’t trying to be provocative - I’m just one of those people that finds repetition somewhat wearying, but that’s just life I guess.

Who is TNLI? Is it a misprint for RNLI? & what is the connection with anchors? Can someone explain please?
Assuming your question is genuine (possibly a foolish assumption!) If you do a forum search for TNLI you’ll find both the connection and if you dig long enough you’ll find that he says it stands for Trev’s Nautical Lunatic Institution.

So I do not have to donate £100 every year? That is good news at least.:D

Why can't people moderate themselves?
We shouldn't need 'teachers' to step in but I guess this is life...
Most people do. Sadly keyboard warriors and trolls and spammers try to infiltrate and the sponsors of the forum like to keep it on subject and free from abuse.
eg My first task when I checked in a moment ago was to permanently remove someone trying to advertise second passports for sale.

It’s not just me; there’s a small team and a professional admin who keep an eye on things.
Before too many questions are asked. the rule we are asked to comply with is that moderation policy or decisions aren’t ever discussed in public on the forums.

Don't feel upset, you expressed a view, it had its debate (which will go on) and debate on issues that 'upset' the members is healthy. I did. not think it provocative. Keep expressing your views. I for one, like to see (or hear, or read) both sides - we all learn (though you might not notice :(.....)

I hate it when people feel they must apologise for raising some issues. Feel free to be ....'unprovocative'.

If what you are about to post isn’t true, isn’t good, and isn’t even useful, then why post it?
I'd say quite a number of participants are convinced of being enlightening, occasionally verging on the messianic :)

Plus the oldie but goldie phenomenon
