flying yanks

Yeah it's French. Fab bit of kit. Similar to jetlev except you use existing jetski instead of having to buy and store the jetlev "boat". That's a genius idea. I've emailed them about price and availability

fascinating indeed,
I've seen them this summer in St Tropez bay, and in Cavallaire,

good idea using normal jetskis, so can't be terribly expensive,
fixing on the jetski seems very easy, at the end of the video.

probably the new toy for summer 2013 ?

and a standard feature on Match II :)

And Blue Angel :). I've emailed them for info; will post any good info. Did you see them close up? Did it look easy or what? I haven't seen any but I wasn't out this summer as much as 2011, and these seem to be a new 2012 product.

I did read a report on them earlier in the year,It was a slightly different set up as in it was a complete unit rather than a bolt on unit to a jet ski, the report said that they were very difficult to master but exhilarating

actually this film is made IN Cavalaire,
2 guy's in that film, we seen there, doing similar stunts
sorry, foto's not on this computer

we saw them quite close, we were on that qay stern moored towards the beach, they were right in front of us.
and in saint tropez they were behind a yacht, we went there with the tender,

the one in St Trp was boaring, many attemps and just came out the water a few seconds each time, so appears to be not easy,

the guys in Cavalaire seemed very well trained (the developers !?)

here is a price indication;
4100+vat for the system
1250+vat for the electronic remote controll system

thats excluding the jetski ofcause

That's the jetlev OAF, which has been around for years. It's unworkable on our sized boats becuase of the size of its power unit. The use of an existing jetski for power is what is so clever about this flyboard

They tested it on the Gadget Show earlier this year, the presenter spent a day trying to master it. Hes pretty fit and well coordinated, but even he couldnt 'porpoise' by the end of the day.

They were selling them on eBay in summer, a bit over 5k from memory plus adapter for your specific ski.

Here is uk dealer: www.flyboarding.co.uk. With the remote throttle it is £6445 plus £250 training fee, which you must buy. They will come to you for training if you wish, so it will be £7k all in if you pay their airfare to the Med to do the training in warm water

7k for that is not out of the way for that sort of toy, plus of course the jet ski, if you don't have one.

Being in the UK it wouldn't get enough use, in the so called summer we have, it's to cold to sit out side let alone go flying with a jet pack of water up yer arse:rolleyes:

Do you fancy one JFM?

Yeah I fancy one. I'm having a jetski on the next boat anyhow so in a manlogic kind of way the jetski doesn't have to be included in the cost

But also for about £7k you can have a jetsurf (video here and stills here) so you gotta make some choices otherwise you have 10 tonnes of gear on the boat
