Flaming June, eh?

Of course it'll get better. I will have just got back from my single handed Chichester - Falmouth and back cruise. Nearly all in the soddin' rain (and wind).

This is malcb sitting in Brixham, in the pouring rain, p***ed off, witing for a forecast possible F8 to go away so he can get home. Nothing to do but /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

If it is flaming, then yesterday well and truly quenched it....

CliveG reported 3" of water in his cockpit despite the best efforts of his cockpit drain.....

We couldn't see him from 400yds away due to the intensity of the rain, and the ferocity of the lightning!!!!!!

Pretty cold here too - temps dropped to about 26 having been well up into the 30's for weeks!

Flaming nice up the Deben on Wednesday and Thursday - clear blue skies and warm. My first trip there but definitely not my last - truly lovely. (Don't ask about Tuesday - not pleasant bashing out of Burnham and diving into Brightlingsea in an overhead storm)

Friday was OK too going to Walton but yesterday down the Wallet - blimey! Started out NE F3 - cruising chute out. Turned SW F4-5. And that rain and lightning - wet or what? Got back to Bradwell in the sun wearing shorts. "Changeable" might cover it - cyclonic in a Dyson fashion.

Just an early St. Swithins!

Monday night might be fun, wind and rain, the met office is showing 40 mph northerlies. Then by next weekend we are back to low pressures crossing the Atlantic.

Seems like significant parts of the Atlantic are a little cold at present. By this time in 2005 there had been 5 storms and Hurricanes

At least all the reservoirs around here are full, but I feel sorry for all those in the channel today. A tad wet.

Just the man. I will be heading off down to Falmouth from Gosport single handed soon, do you have any tips on single-hander friendly mooring locations?

Me too..what day are you planning on leaving? I was going across to France, but due to spending to much time in the sun have got to make a couple of visits to the hospital over the next few weeks. So have 'diverted' and will see how far i get this time, and can then hop on the train back as and when ness.

Regards Nick

About a week from now, I would like to be on the way by July. First stop Weymouth followed by the rest of the Mouths.

I am working on a travel blog site now and can forward a URL when it is ready.

More like fooking February.
We're living on the boat until we complete on our new property and are rapidly losing our sense of humour.

Near on 100 degrees here, and wall to wall sunshine, but very hot and tiring on a 7 hour sail. Best sail we have had this trip was Datca to Marmaris, where we touched 9 knots twice in winds up to about 25 knots. Boat going very well even with the old baggy genoa, which is fine downwind, but is going to be relaced because it will not flatten enough for good pointing upwind. New one is to be a little smaller for easier handling.

From what I hear of UK weather the first thing I will have to do when I get back is shoot the pymies living in the long grass that used to be our lawn.
