Sadly the most up to date models are showing the eye further south and therefore even stronger winds. 180mph gusts in the most recent model.

I don't think we can expect much to survive through that.

A few pictures are appearing out of Carriacou. Looks like peak gusts were around 140mph.

Still very little news from Carriacou. I've heard that many boats in the yard are on their sides, and at least one cat in the mangroves is upsidedown. Also report of a boat on fire, don't know if that was the same one.

Will be amazed if we come through this with a boat that is worth repairing.

Remember Aphrodite is half boat, half brick shithouse. You may be pleasantly surprised.

A few pictures from the yard coming through now. Our boat isn't in any of them. Still clinging to the possibility that having our mast off might have saved us from being toppled.

One wonders about some people’s preparation for a well forecast hurricane when roller furling jibs are left on.

Let’s hope most others’ boats have survived better. Certainly removing the mast when ashore is good sensible preparation.
Some insurance companies require lower of masts on the hard in hurricane season storage.

We are insured with Pantaenius. No named storm cover. We either stay with the boat so you can move it or haul out in ABC Islands if we want to fly home.
The whole Windard and Leeward islands is in the bowling alley. You are rolling the dice.
Even ABCs is theoretically at risk but to a far far less extent
