Fender inflation

This is a basic question which I suppose I should know the answer to but don't. How do you re-inflate a flat fender ? I asked at a recent boat jumble and was sold a short length of alloy tube with a screwed thread at one end, a knurled bit in the middle and a reduced smooth section at the other.(and no instructions) The fender seems to have a plug in it that I have unscrewed to find it is the same as the screw on the tube but that is as far as I have got. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

A Fender pump - available at chandlers - or a bike pump with a football blowing up attachment (football valves are usually the same as fender valves).

Just press the inflator nozzle against the fender valve. There will be some leakage but it won't be a lot. Easiest at a garage but I do mine with a bike pump or car foot pump.

needle adaptor

Most fenders have a valve. In your footpump box, they'll be a needle adaptor. Screw this on and stick it in the valve and pump away!
