I posted this on the Fairline FB group last year hoping i might get some leads on who could do this. Anyone have any suggestions ?

T40 Coachroof Sunpad upgrade. Well after seeing the detail from a recent Jack Haines' post i now have some mechanical insight on what i want to do. Been wanting to replace the standard T40 sunpad with something nicer with head support and having the adjustments for a full backrest is just the ticket. So thought i'd check if anyone has done it already and who they used or if not then any suggestions on whose up to the job?

Cheers

Hello bluetooth,
I've just had some reclining back rests fitted to my Prestige 42S. Like you, I had the lay flat sun pads but wanted to be able to 'sit up' as well as lay flat. I had a local chap (Gosport) make and fit them. I believe he used to work for Sealine. The design is very similar to what they used on the Sealine F42/5 flybridge.
I had to have my sun pad cushions modified to allow them to 'hinge' up or down but that was relatively straight forward. We haven't used them in anger yet as
this was a winter project, but we're looking forward to using them when the weather gets warmer. I'm sure we'll use that area of the boat more as being able to sit up or lie down will increase their usability for us and our guests.

Doesn't the cushion just go though the cut-out!?

That was a concern of mine, but I was assured they would be fine. As I mentioned, the design was proven by Sealine. There's plenty of support for the cushions which are quite firm anyway. They're really comfortable.

I agree with bluetooth, they look brilliant. This has been on my list for a while. Could you share the contact details with me as well?

Would be easy to cut from HPDE. Just need a sketch and the dimensions of the hinges to make the spacers.

@bluetooth email me!
I made a template to show where they were to be fitted and importantly where the ‘fold/hinge’ point was to ensure the sun pads were modified to fold at the correct point.

I’d appreciate the contact details of the fabricator and any information on the materials used please. It’s a job that has been on my list as well. The design looks great.
