I love the concept.
I often shirk away from getting out the inflatable because it is such apain to extricate the outboard from behind the stern locker. Rowing an inlatable is so hopeless that this gadget seems an option. However I note there is no wind in the demo film. I doubt that it would cope with a bit of breeze and a landing against the tide in an estuary.
Is it man enough for more than 1 man and his dog? As a tender motor it needs to be able to push at least 2 full grown adults, preferably 4 up wind in a F5-6 in moderately flat water. Or its no use to me...
It WEIGHS 8lb + 8lb for the battery = 16lb thats over 7 Kg
and what does it cost?
those light little boats in the vid were only crawling along in a flat calm.
Yamaha 2 stroke OB £100 on fleabay = 2Hp 9 Kg and will drive an Avon with 6 fat geezers in across a lumpy sea in a f6
NO CONTEST there then
quiet enough to hear the birds
I would buy one for the duck punt
if I was a rich man
