We used to sail with 3 dogs and lived aboard subsequently for 2 years on another boat with 2 of them. They just like being with you and adapt really quickly if introduced young. They used to get excited seeing the masts as we drove to the marine. I’ve had more problems caused by people than dogs in marinas…View attachment 152879
Three dogs! That ‘s taking ownership of a Seadog to the extreme 👍. Great boats, we miss ours.

The only time we’ve had dog hassles afloat was when a boat with 2 dogs aboard had to raft on us. We’d warded everyone else off by having 2 young kids, usually even less popular than dogs. The dogs had to go ashore regularly, crossing our boat with a huge commotion and noise, and fairly vigorous attempts to make new friends, meaning that whilst the owner lifted the second dog over his rail and onto our deck, the first one was down our companionway. Afraid I drew the line at that, and told the owner to find himself another berth.

Having sold that Seadog in 2012 and gone over to motor, I recently acquired another one as a project. I intend to recreate that photo with the now elderly Labrador and a single Yorkie that has replaced the other two…
