Sorry, based in Southampton and no drying piles at the marina so really need to get wet to be able to do it properly.
May go for the seek forgiveness option and jump in on a quiet Sunday morning!
Don't forget to wear earplugs. Getting a barnacle critter swimming into your ear is an extremely painful experience. It's also quite difficult to get it out!

Just to add I doubt the marina would officially entertain anything other than a full-on commercial diving team and you'd likely be looking at hundreds not tens of quid...

It's better to wear a diving hood. There is a risk when wearing earplugs associated with being unable to equalise pressure either side of the ear drum. Granted the risk is small but the biggest pressure/volume changes are in the first few metres of depth.

I think a complete hull clean can be around £150.

Which is £150 you can save by DIY, but if you put a cost on spending a day waiting for the tide to go out and come back, it's not that bad.

A submersible camera on a stick to see what you're up against is a good idea.

Two points - most marinas will allow commercial dive work

Most marinas will offer a lift, hold and power wash. Probably cheaper than a diver and more effective.
