Just confirmation that I have sold my old girl. Now I am a 1 boat person again....

Can anyone suggest the verbaige that I should use on the "deed of sale" piece of paper that I must knock together before tomorrow.

Private sale , £2500, etc....

Do include words to the effect that the vessel is purchased as seen and not warranted in any way by you. If you have an inventory typed out all to the good - it qualifies what was transacted and reduces the scope for carping in the future.

In turn you may be requested to state that the vessel is entirely yours and is sold with full possession and unencumbered. Assuming this is so, you will have no probs with this.

Finally, proof of VAT paid, if the boat was launched after 1985 and VAT was paid in the EU, should be handed over to prevent a barage of subsequent questions. If it pre-dates 1985 you will need proof of that (launch date and evidence thereof) that it was used in the EU and is therefore exempt from VAT regs.
