Am thinking of removing rust from anchor chain using phosphoric acid. Experience? Suggestions for concentration?

Is that the same chemical as brick acid, I would use.

The chain is very rusty - certain shackles stuck to each other and would require a hammer to separate them.
Besides, most anchors have a grey colour which in my opinion is also a phosphate layer not galvanised.
It sounds like you need a new chain.
Are you sure about that?
Not sure about anchors being phosphated but does not look like galvanised.
Decent cement mixer with paddles removed. Put some sand in with the chain and wait a while.
