Does anyone who actually owns, and pays good money to moor a boat, wear sailing gloves and dark glasses. Not to mention sitting on the side with their legs dangling. Just an observation from the Solent.

Well, the owner is unlikely to be part of the ballast sitting on the rail. If they have that sort of boat, though, then sunglasses and fingerless gloves seem quite likely.

We're often out racing all day and I wear both when the weather requires it.

Dark glasses if it's bright / sunny as looking up at the sails all day makes my eyes hurt otherwise.

Sailing gloves because I want to be able to dump a sheet quickly without worrying about my hands. When I was younger and sailed three or four days a week I didn't need the gloves. Now my hands are gone soft from the years of office work I've had to do to afford a small boat!
