Crack in ski locker - big issue?

It's a sign of significant movement in the hull, if its a big issue or not depends on if that section is part of the hull integrity.

Generally though, and if its a larger boat it is a problem.

What type and size boat is it?

Hard to say but it looks like you have additional cracks in the lower right of the pic and if so I would examine the rest of the hull carefully and if there are cracks here and there the hull has gone "soft" from repeated and long term flexing which is a problem.

Is this an American built bow rider?
If it is, you could also try asking your question on the powerboat section of the Boat Design Forum which is based in the USA, but also has worldwide readership (like this Forum) -
Powerboats

There is a huge amount of knowledge of all types of speedboats on this Forum.
Please mention as much as possible 'up front' - it then saves people from asking questions when they try to help you.

Mention the make and model of the boat, and her age (and can you give us this info as well), and include the video clip and the photo above.
Do you have any other photos, perhaps without the mat in the locker?

The cracks are an issue, and you need to inspect the bottom of the hull as well.

But it's not necessarily a serious issue - if you get a fibreglass person to grind out the cracks and the box section, then re-glass it with some extra thickness of mat on the inside of hull there, you'd be in a good place again, and your wallet would be about the same shape is it was before.

A friend bought a brand new Maxum bowrider and within a month cracks appeared in the locker area. He had a surveyor inspect it and was able to reject the boat and get a full refund.

Looks like the bottom has flexed enough to crack the frame. If so the section that needs reinforcement is the sides of the frames, which are perpendicular to the plane that is flexing. And/or make them deeper, more in number etc.

I fail to see how those cracks could appear if it wasn't part of hull rigidity. I'd be concerned about wet/ rotten ribs. See if you can gain any access and see their state.

I’d think that from looking at pics. This flat section is not structural, given there is a drain going through and below into bilge. Worth a check on the underside though.

Was the boat from Conwy? Nice chop there, if so I think know that boat. Kids used it a lot for wakeboarding on the upper estuary, music blaring and having a whale of a time. It'll be sad to see it go, it was a festive boat even if I yelled obscenities at it from time to time for dragging a wake through the harbour. Not enough kids left starting in the hobby.

Thanks for all the replies - got the boat crack repaired by Barry and his team at TLC Conwy. Very happy.

Good repair but looking at that pic I looks to me like the cracks were in a non structural part of the boat. The bit below the drain hole at the bottom of the picture is the bottom of the hull and is the bit that would have been the problem. Nice to have got them repaired though

I am working on my new to me 19 foot bowrider and every now and then I come across a crack that looks a concern and while it is important to investigate these cracks my experience is that most boats have them in certain places
