You could use this:-
Freefix 6470-W-2
to stick small pieces of wood in place, then use screws to instal 40mm waste pipe clips after the wood is securely attached
or use it to stick electrical trunking in place

OK, today I learn that what I used myself was "trunking" (rectangular, detachable lid, you can cut a succession of slots in the uprights of the U shaped part to make it take up a concave curve) and what I've seen elsewhere and used inside walls in houses is "conduit" (round edges, not openable) and I'm sorry I never looked that up before. I usually just grab the stuff off the shelf without looking at the label. Both are available in 50mm width at least.

Double sided tape might be the best idea yet. Will give it a go.

Why not use solvent weld pipe of the same size? The glue on joints goes off within about 10 seconds.
