Just a hunch that singlemindedness and an indomitable spirit would have won out in the end, despite the begrudgers.

It's nice to hear that Elizmor has finally been launched, but I'm finding it a little hard to see how paying money to a crane company represents singlemindedness and an indomitable spirit.

May I refer you back to post #3

You really don't get how internet cred works do you she wants this to run and run . She doesn't care whether you love her or loathe her so long the count builds . Its the likes of me and others who fire up controversy keep Ellie alive. As to the common belief by some that she has stopped posting here because of the negativity of some posts answer why she has not posted and updated her blog which is totally remote and unconnected from here . Do you think she is soooo hurt that she has abandoned her blog ? Christ sake get a grip and look at the wider picture. Our Ellie is an extremely clever cookie ,far more so than some of the handwringing old gits who post here.

I agree. If you look at her past ventures - the trail of abandoned websites and blogs - you soon see that she's very savvy about dropping things which aren't working out. It would be interesting to know if the Elizmor project is going ahead, or if she has just taken the opportunity of a cheap(er) launch. After all, Elizmor would be practically unsellable on the hard.

No. Her actions show she's a bit more grown up than the grumpy old gits who have dissed her so thoroughly on here. Rather than get into a tiresome slanging match, she's simply ingnored you all and that's what hurts. Well done her for ignoring you and getting on with her life and getting her boat back in the water.

Well said, Duncan.
Hmm. She was all bonhommie when the project started and dropped it like a shitty stick when it went pear-shaped and wasn't getting the support she wanted.

Anyone remember the Noah of Penarth Marina way back in about2002/2003 ? What ever happened to him and his family ? I seem to,remember an incident with a lock gate and a sinking very similar story but different innit .:)

I was single minded and indomitable today too. My boat was lifted in by a crane today too and I struggled so hard between skiing hols and work to get her ready this season.

I'm gonna dread my hair and see if I can blag some money off some of the gullible ones on here.

I changed my reply to something less obscure. There was an article in which she mentioned her partner by name, but perhaps I misunderstood.

I believe there was a boyfriend, then there was a girlfriend, now there's a boyfriend again. Not that big a deal, some people take a while to make up their minds. One of my schoolfriends decided halfway through uni that he was gay, then after a year or two he decided he wasn't after all. I think he's married (to a woman!) now.

I see Sad, Sadder and Saddest are on the case again - good luck Ellie if you're wasting your time reading this same old sh!t.

Good Heavens

So someone who has 'waited a bit', saved 'a bit more money' and shared costs with someone else is awarded the same accolades as one might give Ranulph Fiennes or Ellen MacArther?

You'll be nominating her for a New Years Honour next for Services to Being a Bit Patient.
I was in the middle of typing a snippy reply but thought," why bother?" !

Feel free.

Do you REALLY think that 'single-mindedness and an indomitable spirit' reflects a person who bought a boat, then found the launching costs more than they thought, so waited for more favourable circumstances?

That's the sort of accolade I save for a friend of mine, an ex-Royal Marine, legs blown off, currently involved in an endeavour that most able-bodied people would find impossible.

For a 23-year old "girl" (sic) with a dream, waiting three months for anything is probably a degree of suffering beyond human comprehension. Still nothing about the launch on the blag, by the way.
