Of course not. Too much nastiness. I wouldn't have either. It's the nasty people that ruined it and if you can't see that it shows an astonishing lack of empathy.

If you had read the original thread you would have seen that it was wholly supportive and helpful until Preston Marina made their statement and Eleanor vanished.

Even if she had decided to withdraw because of all the nasty howwid people, she could have kept blogging (but didn't), tweeting (but didn't) or updating the facebook page (www.facebook.com/MFV-Elizmor, now deleted).

I've already said that I'm pleased that the boat is launched and sincerely hope that all goes well, but another point is that we have all been used as part of her marketing strategy in a misguiding fashion.

She has seriously misled her sponsors by clearly stating on her Blog that each view of these forum posts is a UNIQUE USER and a HIGHLY TARGETED READER at the same time as selling herself as a Digital Marketing Strategist.

I would be very disappointed if I had sponsored her to find that the 177,000+ views on her original post were in fact the same few hundred (?) people viewing repeatedly.

There seems to be a lot of ".love struck"posters posting utter blind rubbish . Wise up take note of Mr Ducks posts and check and see how our Miss Ellie has used you all .
They say love is blind and some of you appear to be proving it .

The Ellie huggers seem to identify themselves by the use of rather feverish prose and the demand that certain unnamed people stop being mean to the heroine of their tale. Apart from Capt Clyst who I think goes a bit over the top, I can't recall a post that actually criticises Ellie for anything but over enthusiasm, lack of a bit of patience and not keeping her public up to date. I find the slightly frothy posts defending her against all sorts of mythical forum dragons to be a bit sort of creepy.

Plus one! I took a lambasting for daring to seemingly crititisize her! She appears to have done what I said, go away, earn a few more shillings and get the job done!
It never ceases to amaze me when a pretty young thing comes on here, all the old goats get themselves worked up in a sycophantic way and get all protective!
If jellie had been an old goat I wonder how sympathetic they would have been! Creepy springs to my mind as well!
Anyway, best of luck to her and I hope we see her in HH on the way sarf!

I think you got a lambasting because some people think you are a thoroughly nasty piece of work. Your criticism of Elizmor's owner was merely the latest of a series of unpleasant, vindictive and childishly-worded posts about all kinds of topics, other boat owners, people who do not share your extreme right-wing views (odd for a supposedly 'independent' councillor), etc. You have also hinted that people who disgree with you might be physically attacked.
Quote 31st January 2014. If you think on a bit, if you were in a crowded pub and said something like that you would in all probability get a smack on the nose, so why say it here?

I criticise you at every opportunity for no other reason than that I have taken a deep, sincere personal dislike to you, it has nothing to do with Ellie, whom I have never met, nor ever shall. I was lambasting you long before Ellie's name appeared on this forum. And I dare say I shall continue to do so long after she has been forgotten.

Quote You mean like Peter Blake did? Didn't work out very well for him, did it?
Ah but, as I understand it, he was in a small yacht, big clumsy rifle, I suspect he wasnt au fait with and trained to use a firearm to kill someone!
Pros, guns, with the detached professionalism to point and pull trigger knowing that someone will die, thats the difference.

Quote The first minister of wales was visiting, we had an issue going on where an actio group wanted a boundary commission revue, we didnt!
The minister had the power to say ye or nay, we knew he was visiting, we knew where, we called the tv news, they met us, the minister car showed, i said to the camera man keep pointing at me, he did! I stepped forward, opened the door, stuck my hand out, he took it! A result, I then sandbagged him, he thought I was the local Labour Party official, hee hee, she was being blocked by the rest of the protesters! I got my two pennorth in and made the news that evening! He wasnt happy!
Stu

can't really be surprised if someone takes a dislike to him.

Have a nice evening. Speak soon.
