I predict that computers are there related businesses are going to take over the world in the new millenium, no more trapesing down to the shops, imagine what 's going to happen to the share prices of all these new companies. Best all get in there before its too late.

I predict that computers will become so small that we won't be able to find them or remember where we put them and life as we know it will end.

Autre temps.....

I once got one of those Pathe videos for Christmas, you know, the one that gives all the news that happened the year that you were born. Apparently in 1960 Automation was going to change the world, and in the future robots and machines would do all the work. The main thing that's changed between me and someone doing my job in 1960 is that the valves have got an awful lot smaller.

I predict that the IT related jobs such as looking after computers, and buying/fixing/arguing about computers will all be taken over by computers, and that nobody will notice provided that just one of the computers has a little green light glowing.

Chaps and others..

I am responsible for the information systems provided to quite a large and intelligent workforce.

One thing I can guarantee from experience is that until we (the humans) start to communicate a little better, there is absolutely no chance of the machines taking over.

You know those lists that go the rounds of example support calls? (e.g. "it says press any key, where is the any key?").

They are all true.

And also IT literacy (whatever that is) is definitely not the gift of the young.

PK.
