I don't know if you have many of these over there. It's a 1946 Chris Craft 36' sedan.

Back to the OP, this is the ad in mid March, 1961

And this is from mid October 1971, an ad for the sisterboat Nomads. I knew later when she had a second steering position added (I can scan a photo of those too)

Motor Launch 'Suandra'

Here's another one for you..

'Suandra' is a 26ft motor launch pitch pine on rock elm with cab sides worked from one piece of teak on each side! She might have been a 'Kelvin Light Utility Launch' but her origins were unknown to me. A Stuart Turner 8hp was her power. She was very pretty and would race along so easily driven was her shape. In my care for over 20 years after I fell in love with her as a teenager! A previous project, rescued from dereliction in 1980 and kept and used on the Severn until I had to sell her on. Last seen going to ruins near Evesham.. hope she finds another sympathetic guardian! These pictures were taken in 2001 after her last refit in my hands.

I thought I knew those lines! Not a sliver, but designed by the same designer, John Bain, same as my boat Englander, his last design.

Classic, I think she is, but hull is GRP, Osbornes first. The brochure picture is my boat, superstructure is mahogany and ply.

Really Sweet!

So nice to see this type without the usual wheelhouse add on.
Lets hope she is being looked after. We can't save them all.

Is this a classic motorboat?

Yeah sure it's GRP but the hull was later used (albeit in even more beefed up form and with an additional par of spray deflector rails) by the RNLI for the "Brede class" lifeboat so it does have some pedigree.

Loads of lovely mahogany inside it, it still has the original big black Sestral compass in the dashboard and a Blake Victory in the heads.

33 years old and still in rude health!

Kwackers,

Actually Tom has stood at her helm. Only it was in the boathouse. No time to go out on her. Too busy with the carts loading the GB's drinks cabinet and lazerette. Bombay Sapphire, Glenlivet, wine. Well, you know the routine.

As for the "bathing beauties" that would be Babs and my wife Val. And aside from being a bathing beauty, Babs is the best auto pilot around.
