Hello again Burgundy Ben ! I look forward to your email. . . plus I will have another go at the photobucket.. . Ta.
My boat was built by Bushnells at Wargrave on Thames, as one of a batch of 7.

Not the Bushnells who no longer accept wooden boats on their moorings? Some irony there...

She is a John Bain, but built by Millers of Fife, after he left silvers.

Know the boat well, he stripped the hull, splined it and then epoxied and varnished it, lives in the house at the entrance to Glasson. If you think the outside is magnificent, you should see the interior and the wiring, theres a switch panel in the engine room, that would do justice to a Frankenstein laboratory!! Absolutely wonderful.
He even has two spare Kelvin diesels for her!!
Nobody thinks he will ever finish her, we dont think he wants to, just adores working on her, labour of love.
Next time you are there, if he's there ask him for a look, tell him, you know me.
Thats the only Mobo that I would part with Little Ship for, as far as I know it is several years since he had her in the shed to do the majority of work and has been at the gates for about 5 years.

OK Pictures of what maybe considered a Classic..... well she is wood !

Interesting, as there's several there; Deglet Nour (see previous thread), a large Bates Starcarft (could be Asterisk), and their own Windsor Belle.
Do they just not accept new moorings from wooden boats?

Yes. . .interesting indeed. I tried to make a contact with them at the beginning, considering they had made a batch of 7 of them. The older Mr Bushnell expressed an interest , but then the son completely dismissed me, and said that they have no records of the boats- - no memories. . no photos - zilch. Ah well that's a pity.

Eric

When was it built?

(BTW, most boatyards seem to have a stock answer of "all the records were lost/lost in the fire/put on the skip" etc)

She was ordered on 12/10/53 by the Admiralty and completed on 5/12/53. She was never allocated to a 'big' ship and stayed in Naval Reserve at Portsmouth, though there is a big 'CH' carved into the transom --( Chatham- I presume - - -though no luck there either , I'm afraid ).
I am still trying to work out how to post a couple of decent pictures !!

I persevered and eventually got in there.

Lady May.

The Lady May. Was a 1930s' Yacht tender, petrol, now converted to steam. Double diagonal Brazillian Cedar. Light as a feather, was built to hang on davits on the mother ship. About 30' LOA.

"The son" was positively rude about it and hung up on me.
