Hi All, not sure if i posted this in the right place.

I live in Germany and my parents recently passed away leaving me an old cobra yacht. I have not sailed for over 30 years and am a little stuck.

The boat in in the South of France and i have decided to get my day skipper and get the yacht up to either Belgium or Holland.

The first thing is the cost of mooring, is there a norm i should be looking for? I am struggling to find anything solid on the net. I live in Cologne and dont mind the 3 to 4 hours to get to the harbour. Most of the prices i see are a few hundred a month.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Hi Phil, i am moored in the Zeeland area, probably the best place to be as it has access to inland waters and to the North sea, and direct access to the Oosterschelde. Annual mooring price's are anything in between 700€ pa (what i pay :D)and 1900€, even up to 2600€ in the fancy and hip marina's , depending on where you want to stay. this is for a 28ft mobo.

I am moored in Colijnsplaat (Zeeland- Netherlands) as well. A very nice and big harbour and important affordable. Zeeland is probably one of the niced areas to stay on the water.
Disadvantage for this areas most harbours are working with a waiting list. For example the harbour I am, there is a list with 170 boats waiting for a place.

Many thanks Gwylan and Yabba,

Would you mind sending me a link please, i can then make some arrangements.

Gwylan your 700 sounds very reasonable, what size boat do you have there and do you know if the is availability, also winter storage etc

a late catchup on this tread,

yes indeed Oosterschelde is a nice area from where you can do some nice exploration and cruising of Ooster- and Westerschelde, Antwerp, Goes, Rotterdam, Dordrecht, and many more destinations
and the northsea, and all the kanals in holland,

I can, strongly recommend the harbour in Wemeldinge,

leave my trailable boat there several weekends / weeks during the year,
and it is the closest coastal destination coming from Cologne
or where I am, close to Maastricht / Aachen, its only 150km
But I have heard indeed that there is a waiting list for a permanent mooring,
You could also try Stavenisse.
or as sugested Colijnsplaat.

how big is your boat ?
why don't you leave her in the med ?
I drive or fly at least one's a month to Cassis
its a 10hr drive, motorway all the way,
