In my case it's a Leopard but I'm sure they're all similar. I removed the clutch nut today (the bit in the middle that a manual handle would go into). Inside there i can see a clip, called a "viton seal" by Lofrans. I'm pretty sure I need to remove this in order to take off the rope drum and to get to the gypsy. Is there a trick to taking this vitron seal on and off? I'm afraid that once I take that off I won't be able to put it back together.

Thanks.

have you looked here

If its the seal you'll need a new one.Go to a bearing /seal

supplier the cost is very low

dig the old one out with a small screwdriver at an angle and

measure that to get the size right

jkay. I have looked there. That's how I know what the different bits are called! Wouldn't call it a seal. When I remove the "clutch nut" what is it that prevents the drum from sliding off?

thanks.

What's the part no ?

I did mine from the bottom up as the lower seal had gone /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Sorry I'm being a wimp here but have a history of starting jobs that need to be finished by an expert! If I remove this "clip" or "retaining device" does the rest come off? Is it easy to put back on? I'm asking because the clip is quite far down the hole.
