Hi all. I have this issue next to the window.Part of it seems fibre glassed and part seems to justbe painted onto the plywood. Any tips on how to fix it.
It is not very clear to me just what we are looking at. Assuming it is outside of window area of a plywood cabin top.... The GRP or is it just resin seems to have let go of the plywood. The concept of sheathing wood seems good but in fact is often not successful because wood is a moist flexible material liable to rot. While GRP is stable.
I would just scrape off the resin (or GRP) to expose the plywood. Then treat the plywood with all the usual under coat and paint. ol'will
Scrape back as far as you can .... get back to the 'wood'. Let the 'wood' dry out .....
With laminating epoxy such as West or similar (not epoxy glue as that is too thick) .... paint the wood and let it soak in to bind. Once set - mix epoxy with micro-balloons filler and rebuild the surface carefully. Once set - sand back and then paint as required.
