Fixing the locking nut on st60 windvane

Well feeling pleased have stepped the main mast having fitted new standing rigging, halyards and LED lights!! The only disappointment was the locking nut on the windvane fractured. Has anybody successfully glued this back together. Was thinking epoxy inside and then roughen the surface and epoxy some glass fibre tape around the outside. Any other suggestions? Or can you buy the spare parts from somewhere? Thanks in advance.

Looks very similar to mine before I glued it then wrapped tape around the repair. It has been like that for over 10 years now. I do not recall the glue but likely araldite. Be careful not to overtighten for obvious reasons, hope that helps.

Yep, I fixed mine in glass tape soaked in 10min epoxy. No probs since.

Thanks guys will fix it up wasn’t sure how well the epoxy would adhere. Have a fab New Year’s Eve and fair winds for 2026.
