Apparently campsites are opening July 4th, or so I read in a broadsheet

Is this when overnight stays will be allowed in Marinas?

My relaunch is Monday and I’m just debating whether I load enough sufficient gear to day sail or go the whole hog and put the full, overnight, cruising gear onboard.

I would work on the basis that lockdown might well be tightened again before very long.

Looking at the inertia between new infections and new cases being recorded then the time to start lobbying that overnighting on boats is not a virus spreader in itself is probably about now. Ready for the second lockdown.

How on earth does the government expect to be able to impose a second lockdown. Doubt if many will take too much notice.
Not a chance of a second lockdown.
The government is going to sacrifice the older population which this virus seems to affect more for the sake of the economy

This July 4th notion appears in various media outlets but there's absolutely nothing backing it up from any b government source as far as i can find

The closest to a confirmation i can find is some of the bigger players in the outdoor leisure industry saying that they're planning for a possible limited reopening "sometime in July"

It is Step 3 in the Gov plan, presumably.

"Step Three
The next step will also take place when the assessment of risk warrants further adjustments to the remaining measures. The Government's current planning assumption is that this step will be no earlier than 4 July, subject to the five tests justifying some orall of the measures below, and further detailed scientific advice, provided closer to the time, on how far we can go. The ambition at this step is to open at least someof the remaining businesses and premises that have been required to close, including personal care (such as hairdressers and beauty salons) hospitality(such as food service providers, pubs and accommodation), public places(such as places of worship) and leisure facilities (like cinemas). They should also meet the COVID-19 Secure guidelines. Some venues which are, by design, crowded and where it may prove difficult to enact distancing may still not be able to re-open safely at this point, or may be able to open safely only in part. Nevertheless theGovernment will wish to open as many businesses and public places as the data and information at the time allows. "

With some difficulty, but I'm pretty sure we're going to have to get use to recurring lockdowns - mostly local - for quite a while.
That has been stated by the government from the beginning.
A lockdown at laying-up time could be even more of a worry than at fitting out time.

Well, I am more optimistic. Although I am not going to rehearse the reasons here.
3 weeks and we should know more.
Good to be optimistic.
Personally, I'm preparing for a range of possibilities from another, firmer, lockdown, through to the South Coast being over-run with all the bloody tourists who'd normally be be off to the continent etc. There's a relatively happy medium somewhere between perhaps?

As you say, we should no more as time goes on. It's easy to forget how little we really knew at the start of all this.

My personal question is if England opens campsites and restaurants on 4th of July, then I have an event in England to attend mid July.

So how can I get "out of Scotland" if we are locked down, bearing in mind I am 300 miles from the border?

Ask wee Nicola for a day pass. Or vote for common sense next time around.:);)

Is there a law that stops you traveling 300 miles through Scotland? Can't see one in the Scottish Regulations.
