That's likely to be because Covid restrictions have only recently been eased and weather of late has not been inviting for a cross channel cruise, crewed by family. I proffer it's my reason anyway.

When the Morbihan Fest was cancelled, I wondered whether to go to brittany anyway but could not for the life of me work out how to manage both covid restrictions and new post brexit travel restriction. The UK border re-entry site didnt work and I had no idea what to make of the French stuff.
I then thought Guernsey but their entry form was basically a "dont bother" bureacratic wonder, so toddled off to Scilly instead.
Next year however I am thinking Brittany.
So what do the regulations amount to. I have been told I can go straight to Camaret not Brest but how do I book in as it were?

I had a go at sorting it out in this thread but the situation remains far from clear. I think we will be at the mercy of the local douanier. But I suppose that was the situation before free movement came in. I did a few cross-channel trips then as crew - the skipper never cleared in or out and nobody ever checked our passports. Could we have been stopped in the street and charged as illegal aliens?

I spotted one three weeks ago. Pont Aven was like a ghost ship. The French take COVID samples in a very different way and Self Isolation with its three test was interesting.

I understand that entry to France is not a problem. It's the going home to UK . I think you have to test before leaving France and again when you arrive in UK. Having said that, I may be wrong! Anyone have any experience?

French flagged boats have begun arriving here, which is interesting as there’s nobody here with the remit to check that they have done anything necessary to comply with whatever the current regs might be. . . . . . . Their Q flags will either fly for a long time or be quietly stowed away

Good luck to them (unless they're bringing a variant with them). Perhaps I shouldn't worry so much about the return journey but it seems too much of a hassle for what is supposed to be a relaxed holiday!

Maybe Brits have had a taste of the nouvelle attitude of our erstwhile Gallic friends. Until this year I kept a boat in France for 10 years and had visited annually since the 80s. Anyone who doesn't accept that the French now openly dislike the British is delusional. I sold a boat through a French broker in July, with whom I'd dealt before, and even as a client the once genial banter was notably absent and replaced with a distinctly chilly atmosphere which occasionally erupted into baffled enquiries concerning the UK's approach to diplomatic issues. Even the unfortunate Dutchman who tried to communicate in English in the Capitainarie was treated with disdain until his true nationality was realised.

From my recent experience you needed to be double jagged and have a negative PCR test to enter France.

Recently read on a French gov site was that proof of jab and a signed declaration that we are clear of covid was enough

I am sorry to hear of your bad experience.
In contrast, my wife and I have been in Brittany for several weeks now and have met with nothing except friendly courtesy from every French person we have come into contact with. The list includes immigration officials, bus drivers, shop assistants, museum staff, hotel staff, waiters/waitresses, a garage mechanic, and medical professionals but no yacht brokers.

Indeed, which is the norm in Brittany. The large group of French touring cyclists I saw coming off the Brittany ferry today seemed quite happy to mingle.

We've been here since 26 th July but so far have seen only two other red ensigns between Brest (where we cleared in) and Pornichet. Both those other boats were heading North and the one we spoke to was returning to the UK due to the RGR VAT issue. We've had no problems with any locals at all and we were able to upload our Welsh Covid vaccination QR codes on to the French app for the pass sanitaire.
