Another under-rated and almost forgotten tool is the "Yankee" screwdriver. Pozi bits are hard to find now - but I think you can get 1/4" hex adaptors.
Agreed. As a student during summer holidays working in the Malvern Festival Theatre I spent several days fitting walkways to access lighting bars in the roof of the Auditorium. A lot of the time we were working on rafters holding a false (and very ornate) plaster ceiling. Hammering nails in to secure the boards was definitely out if the question. I must have put hundreds of pozidrive screws in with a long Yankee screwdriver. Kershunk kershunk...Another under-rated and almost forgotten tool is the "Yankee" screwdriver. I've got one of those (with 1/4 hex adaptor), inherited it. The bit wobbles slightly and it's easy to do a lot of damage.Another under-rated and almost forgotten tool is the "Yankee" screwdriver. Pozi bits are hard to find now - but I think you can get 1/4" hex adaptors.
Not if you use your head and keep it cool when grinding it...The ebay ones all have shocking p/p charging. Can see buying augur bit and grinding it to suit. Would you need to do any heat treating after?
