Has anyone fitted or had installed a Bow Thruster into a Colvic Victor 40. I am considering doing so and would like any info on pifalls encountered, more to the point is it worth it?

The question "is it worth it" depends entirely on how you use your boat. If you always anchor, then the answer is a resounding no.
If you use marinas then the answer is yes, especially if your boat does not behave when going astern. Although there are other companies, there are two that have the major share in this business: Sleipner () and <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.abcpm.co.uk/pages/vetus_pages/thrusters.html>Vetus.
Sleipner have more of the first fit (i.e. when the boat is new) and Vetus more of the after sales fit. I have a Sidepower for fit into my boat!

Just had a Sidepower unit fitted to our Trident Voyager 38. Not got to use it in anger yet but in practice sessions it performs as anticipated. The price tag turns you grey, but then so do sleepless nights thinking 'how am I going to get out of here in the morning'.

JS Mouldings on the Hamble did ours and it seems a good job, but they were the only company who bothered to quote out of the three approached.
